It's been in 2005, we purchased and installed the first generator together with the Karmapa and his monks. ...it has been called the "Mahakala-Generator". Now, after 20 years, it has given up the ghost, and the KHCP donated a new, modern 10 kW generator, which was put into operation during the Karmapa's visit in May...

Karma Chokhor Dechen Ling / Nunnery Rumtek - Restoration Project
An earthquake some time ago damaged significant parts of the building. Normal life, such as cooking, eating together, and meditating, is severely restricted as a result. It is planned to reconstruct the building in coordination with H.H. Gyalwa Karmapa and Jigme Rinpoche and our friends in Switzerland.
