Summary of Collaboration of KHCP and DHKUH Dhulikhel Hospital Kathmandu University Hospital in Kathmandu/Nepal
From 2012 until 2019, a collaboration had developed between Dhulikhel Hospital Kathmandu University Hospital with its Director Prof. Dr. Ram Sheestra and the KHCP.
What was at first planned as a medical contact point had been developed to be a platform for a combination between medicine and social work.
Local doctors and medical staff have been hired by the KHCP. Monks and nuns were able to learn in the environment of Dhulikhel Hospital by being guest observers or by taking part in workshops on medical topics

The following list is a short overview of the campaigns of this collaboration:

Doctors and medical staff of DHKUK were hired by the KHCP
Several students of medicine from the West were linked to DHKUK by the KHCP
Monks and nuns learned in the environment of Dhulikhel University Hospital by being guest observers or by taking part in workshops on medical topics
Plenty of medical-, dental-, optician camps as well as check-ups for TB and serious cases
Heart-OP, Brain OP, cancer OPs, live-saving amputation etc.

NEWS:
From November 2019 onwards all monasteries, nunneries and orphanages will get their annual medical budgets directly from KHCP.
The amount will be distributed per person.
Everybody is free to choose his own doctor or hospital for his treatments and every group is self-responsible to manage their financial basket.
