Medical Camp Pokhara JCM 2015-03

Venue: Jangchub Choeling Monastery in Pokhara/Nepal

… On March 20, we went to Pokhara. There, we were received a warm welcome and were hosted generously in the monastery’s guest rooms. We were also provided with good working rooms in the school.
Within the next few days we could provide a check-up for about 50 students and ten teachers as well as some of the staff. About 40 more students and five more teachers visited from Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche’s neighbouring monastery. Dr Daniel Hess was able to help many with our mobile dental unit.

On our last day we went on a trip to Sarangkot in the morning. We went to see our monastery’s retreat centre, and after a boat trip on the Fewalake and visit to the Peace Stupa, we also visited Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche’s monastery. There, we met some of the patients treated in the days before. Having been received by Abbot Nedo Rinpoche, he praised our work and invited us to come to his monastery the next time. Our job was an overall success and everybody wanted us to come back.
Dr Sonam and the Dhulikhel Hospital are very precious for our work, and the KHCP enjoys a very positive standing in Nepal.
