http://www.dhulikhelhospital.org:
Till date, 67 people injured in yesterday’s earthquake have received treatment in Dhulikhel hospital. The 7.3 Richter scale earthquake triggered many landslides near the epicenter which was near Mount Everest. Dolakha and Sindhupalchowk, the nearby districts were the worst hit.
So far, at least 65 people are feared to be dead and more than a thousand injured. A US Army helicopter carrying 6 marines and 2 Nepali soldiers is missing since yesterday. Many villages are now cut off around Central Nepal due to the latest earthquake. A series of powerful aftershocks followed.
Aftershocks are still expected today and in the days to come which will undoubtedly affect many more people of this area. We have heightened our Disaster Medical Response, set up temporary emergency services in the courtyard and put our medical team on high alert.
---------- Forwarded message ----------
I spoke with colleagues doing relief airport logistics at the Kathmandu airport today following the 7.4 earthquake. They were pretty shaken, but well off.
there has been a reduction of incoming airtraffic by about 50%, limiting it to search and rescue teams, outgoing flights being mostly for medical transport. Efforts continue to move relief goods along official lines to distribution points, but outlying areas are not being reached enough, according to reports. The US Osprey aircraft continue their flights as well. The World Food Program plans around another 150 incoming flights of relief goods in the coming days (or weeks).
The locals were very shocked by the earthquake today, most are staying out of buildings and as such there is a high demand for tarpaulins for shelter.
Security ramped up enormously following the quake today. However, the atmosphere was calm at the airport when we spoke with thte team. There is little chance of private transport or pick up of relief goods. Logistics companies are not doing small-scale shipping of private goods, because this interferes with critical relief operations. People wanting to help are all advised to make cash donations to major relief organizations active on location.
Mostly people there are worried about collapsing buildings, shelter and contingency for further quakes in case mother nature is not finished.
I just wanted to pass this on to you. My prayers and wishes for our lamas, friends and the Dharma in Nepal.
Best regards,
Bruce (Diamondway Buddhism)

Hello everyone,
Then we continue to Pandrakilo where they had missed their tents. For 25 families we provide tents there, and the last, Makaishingh, tiny village connected by a bridge to the world suspended steel cable. They haven't received even food from the government. We give some tents for shelter to 21 families who have their homes partially destroyed or badly damaged. After this busy day we took the road back to, KTM went home around 22 hours. I confess that after 300 km motorcycles on the roads and pathsof Nepal, I slept well.
We still have other aid projects for Nepal for the victims badly affected by this earthquake.
I attached some pictures of all the Bimal team, Milan, Pasang, Santos kamal, Lakpa, Aashis, Subarna, Ramesh, Tashi and all those who assist us and ensure safety.
Thank you very warmly for your support and your generosity.

He distributed tents and food. From our side we collect money to help also where it is immediately the most useful but also later.

- Good morning everybody, for transparency we hereby inform:
Yesterday, 4th of May, we got an overview about the donations for healthcare, nutrition etc.:
Since 27th of April we fundraise about 86.900 Euro.
About 10.000€ we forward to our Dhulikhel Hospital, 5.000€ for a new generator for surgery, about 5000€ for our orphanages.
As soon as we got all infos from all Nepal institutes of Karma Kagyud to find out what they actually need, we will distribute the money also there.
If you have any suggestion let us know.
Yours Pia and Peter and the team. - Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche, Lodrö Rinpoche and Mr. Tsering Dhondrup currently establish an organisation which will coordination the joint work on immediate help and the reconstruction of all our project sites.
Dear friends of KHCP all over the world,
over the past week, we have compiled information on the current situation after the earthquake and we have collected money to fund the next activities.
Our warmest thanks for your generosity and your trust. We will personally take care for all donations reaching their recipients to 100%!
By now, we know that none of our people suffered any serious injuries. However, our monasteries and schools are partially or totally destroyed. Places like Sherab Gyaltsen’s Manang Gompa are completely destroyed.
With tens of thousands heavily injured patients, the hospitals do the most important work. We therefore support our partner, the Dhulikhel Hospital (East Kathmandu), which has been taken care of our places in many years. In this way, we also help the Nepalese.
Date: Sun May 03, 2015
- All festivities of May/June in Dhagpo Shedrup Ling in Nala and Sharminub in Kathmandu with H.H.Karmapa Thaye Dorje are canceled.
So KHCP also cancels the related medical camps for this events. Instead we are continuing with the urgent campaigns. - On Vesak, H.H. Gyalwa Karmapa will lead prayers at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI) in Delhi for all those affected by the Nepal earthquake. Read more www.karmapa.org
- Most of you know Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche´s places in Kathmandu. But KHCP likes to inform, that we are trying to support about 11 Kagyu-monasteries plus 3 related orphanages in Nepal. Here >> Overview of all locations
- Our partner Dhulikhel Hospital called every of our monasteries and asked if aid is needed
- Our seriously sick monk J.S. is still in OM-Hospital. KHCP will spend a donation for further treatments there
EUROPE:
- Yesterday Pia/Peter Cerveny (KHCP) and Caty Hartung/Martin Holecko (DWB) had a worksmeeting - interchanged all Nepal-news and will cooperate wherever it is useful.
On Monday a DW-team with a static engineer will travel to Kathmandu to check the buildings
To prevent any rumours:
KHCP hereby informs, that all KHCP-donations will go save pathes to the recipients.
Thanks to all donors having confidence in this and making this project successful and useful nowadays.
Cracks at Sharminub, but generally stable

We are hopeful and certain you all are with us in this time of uncertain crisis. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Dear Pia and Peter (KHCP),
Thank you so much for your help. Please , we request you to donate as soon
as possible to our account. Please also visit our website for updates.
Thank you so much and Namaste, Dr. Ram Shestra and DHOS Team
They say: "... There are so many more that are not being able to receive help as some roads and trials have been blocked by landslides; therefore, still the injured causalities are yet to arrive in the hospital. We are preparing and being alert ourselves for receiving and caring them..."
IMPORTANT: If you are planning to go there and help, it is ESSENTIAL to take your own supplies with you.
Food, water filters and additional filter tablets, medication and proper gear. Make sure you know where you can stay and that you have contacts on site.
Most of the roads are destroyed and even flights from various help-organisations weren't able to land due to the condition of the airport. There is almost no water and food and as the same goes for sanitary facilities, the risk of an epidemic outbrake is very high and cannot be underestimated.

Dear Peter & Pia,
Thanks. We are waiting for Shangpa Rinpoche's instruction.
We receive updates that all of them are staying outdoor and was cold at night. Food and water supply will be an issue. Also everyone are not sure if the building structure is safe at this point in time.
I could see that more medical aids and food supply will be needed.
With gratitude, Chiu Yuin (Secretary of Shangpa Rinpoche)

Some pretty significant damage to Nerajana retreat center esp the shrine room. But Buddha statue and relics ok. All corner pillars for B1 and B2 are bent and twisted. Can't go into main institute building to do adequate assessment of damage. Still 10+ strong aftershocks per hour.
Everybody safe and amazingly no one hurt. Not even any of the many construction workers who were working at the time.
Will keep you posted. I heard that Swayambhu monastery in not able to be occupied. Major damage.
More soon.
