KHCP-DHK-Medical-Cardio-Dental Camp and Teachings at Dhagpo Sheydrub Ling Monastery in Nala/Nepal

To avoid uncertain death of the children due to heart disease and to provide best healthcare this time we focused cardiac screening for the monks of aged between 5-20 years. Health education is always part of our care.
Karmapa’s Healthcare Project in collaboration with Dulikhel Hospital conducted a Screening Program for the monks and the staff of Dhagpo Kagyu Ling Monastic School, Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche Monastery, Nala.
We included paediatric cardiology for cardiac screening along with Dentist and Medical doctors. We screened 127 monks including staff members. We found out 10 Rheumatic Heart Disease in origin, 1 Bicuspid aortic valve among the monks that are screened and those will be following up in Dhulikhel Hospital.
We had done 27 extractions, 20 restoration, 15 scaling beside that 10 monks will be referred to Dhulikhel Hospital for further treatment.
