Sept. 2011: KHCP-Medical- and Dental at Shamarpa´s school in Takdah/Darjeeling Despite the earthquake in September and minor damage of the school building, the schools’ principal Lungrik conducted the annual dental and medical camp with local physicians.
Here is his report:
"I the institute In-charge of the Shri Diwakar Vihara Buddhist Institute of Takdah cantt, Want to lay down a brief history about our Institute.It is located at Takdah, Darjeeling in India. At present here are 86 students in the institute and all the students resides in school itself. Students are from Bhutan, Nepal, Sikkim ,Tibet and Darjeeling too. Nearly 85% of the students parents are below poverty line , so they are getting each and everthing. Before two weeks ago we had to organized the camp for the good health for our children. At that time we brought different type of doctors ie, dental surgeon and general doctors. Now I am sending some photo with it. At the end of this letter I on behalf of my staff and students of the institute, especially thanked for your cooperation, and hope you will cooperate to us in further continuously.
