Brief story about the KHCP-Medical Camp in Jomson/Mustang/Nepal
2011/10: 1st KHCP medical camp and pilgrimage in Jomson/Mustang with Shangpa Rinpoche
In Jomson, we held a 2-day medical and dental camp for the local people. Afterwards we went on a special pilgrimage to visit a stupa which had just been built by Shangpa Rinpoche. The Stupa was sponsored by his Sangha in Singapore.
In Jomson, we held a 2-day medical and dental camp for the local people. Afterwards we went on a special pilgrimage to visit a stupa which had just been built by Shangpa Rinpoche. The Stupa was sponsored by his Sangha in Singapore.
Following is Ulfs’ report of this pilgrimage:
We went up there early in the morning with the nuns to be present at the inauguration. Rinpoche followed after a while later with his companions. He had left a bit later and had also chosen a different route to get there. Then a brief ceremony at the Stupa….another high Lama was present, other nuns and monks, but mostly local Buddhists. The Tibetan doctor of Jomson arrived as well (clad in festive attire - on a motorcycle). Afterwards in the crowded gompa, the “seven precious gems” (5 of those from Guru Rinpoche) were shown, and blessings with the seven treasures were given. After that we had lunch and meditated underneath the tree of Guru Rinpoche….and returned to Jomson with Ani Tashi.
