10 Years Anniversary of KHCP Karmapa Healthcare Project

At the summer course 2005 in Kassel a first works meeting of Hannah Nydahl, Pia and Peter Cerveny happened. After she made the link to H.H.Gyalwa Karmapa. Two month later Pia and Peter went up to Karmapa´s university (Shedra) in Kalimpong/North-India.
Over 4 weeks they had diverse works meetings with Gyalwa Karmapa developing the ideas of a healthcare project for his monks and nuns.
On Oct. 25, 2005 the KHCP - Karmapa´s Healthcare Project was founded by a letter of Gyalwa Karmapa.

Over the next ten years the KHCP could establish plenty health campaigns with the support of all the volunteers and donors.

22 monasteries, nunneries, schools and orphanages in India and Nepal are constantly supported by Karmapa ́s Healthcare Project 
Additionally grand medical camps in Bodhgaya, Kathmandu, Mustang, Ladakh
Film presentations/lectures in Europe, America and Asia

Numbers of the 10 years

 62 medical camps 
Annually screenings (about 9.000 people every year) 
Teachings on hygiene, dental, first aid 
129 film presentations and lectures on 3 continents
 36 information desks 
83 works meetings 
More than 1000 volunteers and 300 medical professions attended KHCP

Works meeting: Shamar Rinpoche encourage us to found and establish the first Kagyü Mönlam medical camp for 2008.
Karmapa´s university (Shedra) in Kalimpong/North-India: Works meeting with all the representatives of all the institutes and monasteries and supplied medicine and money.
Sharmapa's monastery in Kathmandu/Swayambuh: financial support, photo presentation, first-aid kit and instructions.
