Presentations and works meetings in Kathmandu 2010-02

Febr. 2010: Presentations and works meetings in Swayambhu

In the DW centre, run by Anna Bach, the preparations for lama Ole’s visit are in full swing.
We have been invited to present the KHCP to Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche’s Manang-Gompa in the evening.
Prior to this, we had an important meeting with Sabchu Rinpoche of Mahavihar Swayambhu in order to restructure our activities there.
Rinpoche allocates many hours to marking out new goals with us and the new young people in charge, Karma Trinlay and Umze Samten.
There are around 10 children here for whom it is crucial to receive proper school education. A teacher is sought. One who is able to educate the children in English, hygiene and other modern matters. We will be in need of new bedding, mattresses and clothes.
The classroom that we had refurbished, will be redesigned so the children feel more comfortable.
From now on the KHCP will be responsible solely for the children.

Naturally, we visited Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche before he starts his retreat. We received the latest photos of his monastic school. The profile of the school will appear on our soon to be released institute website.
By the way, our young monks do not only receive our support, but they are also socially involved to improve the welfare of others.

Then we met Beru Khyentse Rinpoche to briefly advise him on the planning of a medical facility in his monastery in Bodhgaya.
Rinpoche has been planning the construction of a new building behind his monastery and has given us official permission to deal with the medical facilities. As soon as these plans solidify we will give further information.

We welcome any experienced health professionals who are interested in supporting our project e.g. by donating equipment to get in touch with us. Rinpoche has permitted us to collect equipment and money for this project.

Note:
Meeting with the nuns who are also interested in increasing their healthcare activities. We have arranged for some of them to receive a medical education, so they can support us in our medical camps.
