Some of our medical volunteers from Germany, Austria and Spain meet together on the way to Bodhgaya, first step: the DW center led by Anna Bach and her nepaly family in Kathmandu.
The KHCP mission in Kathmandu has grown a lot. In February, Karmapa authorized the KHCP to take care of Sherab Gyaltsen's institutes, that means around 200 people recieve money, examinations and education on health protection.
For the first time we are going to visit the nunnery from Rinpoche and are able to talk with the nuns about the work which should be done. But first the medical team is going to Mahavihar in Swayambhu. Our pediatrician Oliver examines the children with Anna and the Weingartner family from Linz, and the old Lamas also recieve a special consultation. We were so glad to be able to help Lama Umze Jygdor , who is over 80 years old.
The next day we went to the children of Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoches School, strengthened by Katrin, our nurse. We proceed to the basic examination of 100 children, 3 of them needed a treatment, which could immediately be organized. A very funny activity was the flushing of their ears, 200 ears altogether... Afterwards Lama Phuntzok offered cake to everybody. Tashi was of course with us and he really diverted the children.
- Before starting the camps we pilgrimage to a Tilopa place
In the evening we sent a report to Rinpoche. He asked us to go to the Nunnery Karma Ngedhon Ozal Choekhor Ling the following day . This place is situated about 30 minutes from Kathmandu. While Rinpoche was giving an Amithaba Puja, we could speak to the nuns and explain the project. We gave them the first money and lots of good ideas on how to use it well. 95 nuns are so glad to now be a part of the KHCP!
We are still looking for godparents for the nuns of Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche. Who ever can help them, please send a message to
or contact directly here
or learn more >>here.
Back to Kathmandu, we classified the medication and packed them. We thank all of the chemists, doctors and opticians a lot for all the stuff they could collect for us in this year. We are as well thankful for the new connection to the Elizabeth hospital in Linz.
Now we are going to Bodhgaya where the other part of our “medical group” from Germany, France, Hong Kong, India and the Philippines is waiting for us.
Hugs Your Pia, Peter and team, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
